At a glance
- Certified Strategic has launched its Queensland data centre map, the third in its series after Sydney and Melbourne.
- The launch follows Zerra DC's 1.44GW application at Kogan, Anthropic's reported lease there and the state's move to take data centre approvals off councils.
- Transmission lines are drawn by voltage from 110kV to 330kV, alongside high-voltage substations and the Sunshine Coast subsea cable landing.
- The six corridors from Certified Strategic's Queensland corridor scoring sit on the map, scored on land, power, connectivity, water and workforce.
- Every site has its own link, and the data is refreshed on the first business day of each month.
Certified Strategic has launched its Queensland data centre map, following its Sydney and Melbourne maps. It puts the Queensland data centres we track, the high-voltage grid behind them and the state's six data centre corridors on one page, with a source on every record.
Queensland's data centre market has moved quickly since August. Zerra DC lodged its 1.44GW Western Downs Digital Park at Kogan on 17 August, and in early September Premier David Crisafulli took an offer of power from the state's own generators to OpenAI and Anthropic in California.
Anthropic has since signed a long-term lease at Kogan, its first commitment since a tender for at least 1.4GW of Australian capacity was reported in July. That tender alone comes close to the roughly 1.6GW of data centre capacity operating across Australia. The Kogan campus is an A$30 billion development, according to the Australian Financial Review.
In October the state moved to take data centre approvals off councils, and Macquarie Capital bought into Zerra DC. The map puts Kogan, every other Queensland site and the grid they would draw on in one place.
The map runs from operating halls in Brisbane to campuses planned in the hundreds of megawatts at Kogan and Brendale. Thirteen sites operate, most of them in Brisbane, with others at Springfield Central, Toowoomba, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast. One is under construction at Maroochydore, and five are planned or proposed, among them the Western Downs Digital Park at Kogan and Quinbrook's Supernode at Brendale, north of Brisbane.
The data in this first edition was checked on 7 October 2026.

Tapping a site opens its operator, status, capacity and source. Capacity is shown as each operator or applicant states it, with the measure it uses beside the figure, and below the map every site is listed with its operator linked to its profile or directory listing.
NEXTDC SC2 Sunshine Coast at Maroochydore is the one Queensland site under construction, with about 1MW in progress towards 6MW. NEXTDC puts practical completion in the first half of FY28 in its FY26 results presentation, and says the first megawatt is for a new contracted submarine cable. Its operating SC1 Sunshine Coast sits at the cable landing station where the JGA-South subsea cable comes ashore. NEXTDC's GC1 Gold Coast at Southport, planned at about 6MW, is in design and town planning.
DigiCo plans DigiCo BNE3, Brisbane Airport, a 19.6MW site beside its BNE1 and BNE2, with completion estimated in 2027.
Zerra's application for the Western Downs Digital Park is for four buildings of 360MW on 725.5 hectares about 37km north-west of Dalby, and its record on the map carries the application's figures and their source.

At Brendale, Quinbrook's Supernode sits beside the South Pine switchyard and has three high-voltage grid connections. Private Energy Partners, Quinbrook's affiliate, puts the site's potential at 500MW of IT capacity alongside the battery storage operating there, and the map carries that figure with its source.
Six corridors scored on five conditions
The map draws the six locations scored in the Queensland corridor analysis against land, power, connectivity, water and workforce, counting only what a dated public source shows.
Ipswich and Swanbank has all five. CleanCo, the state-owned generator, gives its Swanbank site a grid connection capacity of up to 1.2GW.
Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast has power, connectivity and workforce. Gladstone has land, water and workforce. The Western Downs has land and power, Townsville has land and workforce, and Toowoomba has connectivity and workforce.
The grid from 110kV to 330kV
The transmission layer draws Queensland's high-voltage lines in four voltage classes: 110kV, 132kV, 275kV and 330kV. High-voltage substations and the Sunshine Coast subsea cable landing are marked on the same layer, so each proposed campus can be read against the lines and substations nearest to it.

Quick views jump straight to Brisbane, the Western Downs, Townsville or Gladstone, and filters show sites by status. A running feed along the bottom of the map carries the dated events behind the records, from Zerra's lodgement to Powerlink's 2025 planning report.
Every site has its own link
Every site has its own address, so a reader can be sent straight to it with its details open. Sending someone certifiedstrategic.com/maps/queensland#zerra-western-downs-digital-park opens the map on Kogan with Zerra's record showing.
The wider state picture is set out in the Queensland data centre spotlight.
What to watch
- The Kogan decision. Western Downs Regional Council's decision on Zerra's application will be the next change to the Western Downs Digital Park's record.
- SC2's completion. NEXTDC has set practical completion at Maroochydore for the first half of FY28.
- BNE3 at Brisbane Airport. DigiCo has estimated completion in 2027, which would make it the third DigiCo site in the airport precinct.
- The November refresh. The map's first monthly update, on the first business day of November 2026, will list every change since this edition, and each refresh after it will do the same.
