Neoclouds

Neoclouds are companies that lease GPU compute capacity for AI workloads, rather than running general-purpose colocation space.

  • Sharon AI: Sharon AI is an Australian neocloud, listed on the Nasdaq as SHAZ, providing NVIDIA GPU cloud capacity from data centres in Australia and the Asia-Pacific. (Up to 54MW contracted Australian capacity via NEXTDC)
  • Firmus: Firmus is an Australian neocloud and AI-factory developer, using immersion cooling to build Project Southgate in Tasmania alongside campuses in Victoria and South Australia, ahead of a planned ASX listing. (Project Southgate up to about 400MW)
  • IREN: IREN is an Australian-founded, Sydney-headquartered, Nasdaq-listed neocloud and bitcoin miner, with operating data centres in the United States and Canada and a planned 800MW campus in South Australia. (Microsoft AI cloud services contract about US$9.7bn over five years)
